Ms. Khyrunnisa A.

Khyrunnisa A. is an award-winning author of children’s fiction who also writes for adults. She authored the hilarious Butterfingers series of books for older children. Her other books include two captivating collections of animal stories, The Lizard of Oz and Other Stories (2019) and The Crocodile Who Ate Butter Chicken for Breakfast and Other Stories (2020), and the charming novella Baby and Dubdub (2021).

The best-selling Tongue in Cheek: The Funny Side of Life (2019), and the humorous travelogue Chuckle Merry Spin: Us in the U.S. (2022), are her two books for adults.

She regularly writes for the children’s magazine Dimdima and the stories in this collection first appeared in that magazine. Her stories, for children and for adults, have been published in various anthologies.

She is a full-time writer and lives in Thiruvananthapuram.

Ranjit Lal is the author of over forty-five books, fiction and non-fiction, for adults (who are children) and children. His abiding interest in natural history, animals, birds and insects is reflected in many of his stories.

Savie spent her childhood in the coastal town of Karwar. Before transitioning to children’s writing, she worked as a journalist for The New Indian Express, Mid-Day and Talk Magazine in Bangalore. When she is not writing or brainstorming plots, she enjoys traveling and listening to stories from people she meets. She currently resides in Kolkata with her husband, son and two indie dogs.

Capt. Yogendra Yadav

Subedar Major and Honorary Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav PVC (born 10 May 1980) is a retired Indian military junior commissioned officer, who was awarded India's highest military award, the Param Vir Chakra, for his actions during the Kargil War. He is the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra to date, having received it at the age of 19.

Early life

Subedar Major Yadav was born in a Yadav family on 10 May 1980 in Aurangabad Ahir, Bulandshahr District, Uttar Pradesh. His father Karan Singh Yadav served in the Kumaon Regiment, participating in the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pakistan wars. Yadav joined the Indian Army at 16 years and five months of age.
